Our geography of focus continues to be Texas. In 2025, grantmaking programs focused on the following: The foundation also operates Cook’s Branch Conservancy and protects a large tract of land that is part of the property through impact investing. CGMF also makes select grants to various other organizations that reflect the legacy, values, and vision of Cynthia and George Mitchell and the Mitchell family.
To date, Cynthia and George, and the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation, have distributed or pledged an estimated $900 million in grants to causes, programs, and institutions. Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Phase I is sponsored by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
