Multipurpose, Assessment, RLF, and Cleanup Grant Application Resources | US EPA Multipurpose, Assessment, RLF, and Cleanup Grant Application Resources Grants offered by the Brownfields and Land Revitalization Program may be used to address sites contaminated by hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances co-mingled with petroleum) and petroleum.

For additional information on each grant type, visit the Types of Brownfield Grant Funding page. Relevant Brownfields Grant Program policy changes impacting the FY 2027 competitions will be published this summer, as needed. EPA anticipates offering grants at the following amounts in FY 2027.

Return to Annual Appropriation Statutory Requirements In FY 2027, grants will be funded solely by annual appropriations Congress provides to EPA’s Brownfields and Land Revitalization Program. Grants will be subject to the following statutory requirements: Individual grant awards must not exceed statutory limits under CERCLA § 104(k). Site assessments may not exceed $200,000 per site.
Cleanup and Revolving Loan Fund Grant recipients must provide a 20% cost share/match. More information on these requirements will be available in the FY 2027 Guidelines and application resources.
