Community Foundation of Utah - 25 Squared Grant Initiative 25 Squared Grant Initiative Application Opens: September 22nd, 2025 Application Deadline: October 27th, 2025 Applications are now closed Award Amount: Grants of at least $2,500 to 25 nonprofit organizations engaged in community development work in the state of Utah. Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to three outstanding non-profit organization applicants for the following areas.
Best in Show - Highest scored organization Diamond in the Rough - Nonprofit organization with great potential and doing exceptional community development work in the state of Utah. Small Business Excellence - Nonprofit organization doing impressive and innovative work in supporting Utah-based small businesses.
To qualify for this grant award you must: Be a public organization with a 501(c)3 tax-exempt status Have a physical office in the state of Utah Not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin Participate in one of the following community development activities: small business development reentry support and entrepreneurship financial capability and wellness Quality and strength of the applying organization to achieve goals Innovativeness and effectiveness of the application, project and/or organization Potential impact on the Utah community Alignment with Square Financial Services’ core values and organizational pillars Judge's Award Winner: First Step House Small Business Excellence Award: Community Rebuilds Diamond in the Rough Award: Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah New Horizons Crisis Center Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse Habitat for Humanity Northern Utah Asian Association of Utah Wasatch Community Gardens Family Support Center of Southwestern Utah Community Development Corporation of Utah Tabitha's Way Local Food Pantry Friends of the Children - Utah Judge's Award Winner: Project Read Small Business Excellence Award: Utah Black Chamber of Commerce Diamond in the Rough Award: Utah Domestic Violence Coalition (UDVC) Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties Junior Achievement of Utah, Inc.
