The DOH, OASAS, and OMH are jointly responding . The purpose of the CHWTP is to support projects that will increase the number of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Health Support Workers and Peer Workers, providing them with the skill sets needed to provide effective health and wellness in communities.
These combined efforts are intended to advance public health, strengthen the public health workforce, reduce health disparities, and help underserved populations achieve health equity. The National Technical Assistance Programs (NTAP) is a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care that funds cooperative agreements to develop and deliver technical assistance to existing and potential health centers.
