AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO AND AMENDING THE 2026 SHERIFF'S OFFICE BUDGET By Public Safety Committee: WHEREAS, The Sheriff has requested authorization to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergen cy Services regarding the Combined SFY 2024, 2025 and 2026 Emergency Services IP Network Readiness Grant Program in the amount of $689,655 for the term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2030, WHEREAS, The Sheriff has also requested t o amend the 2026 Sheriff’s Office Budget to incorporate the funding, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York S tate Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the Combined SFY 2024, 2025 and 2026 Emergency Services IP Network Readiness Grant Program in the amount of $689,655 for the term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2030, a nd, be it further RESOLVED, That the 2026 Sheriff’s Office Budget is amended as follows: APPROPRIATIONS ACCOUNT NO. California State Nonprofit Security Grant Program (CSNSGP) is a grant from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services that funds target hardening and security enhancements for nonprofit organizations at high risk for violent attacks and hate crimes due to their ideology, beliefs, or mission. Awards of up to $200,000 per organization are available, with $76 million allocated in the latest funding round. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating in California.
