Part Court, Suite A, Champaign, IL 61821 Briefly Describe the Purpose of the Program Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.
Year Program Established: Eligibility Requirements or Restrictions Homeowners who occupy the house, be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere, and have a household income that does not exceed the very-low income limit in the county in which your home is located. Rural areas with populations up to 20,000. 1-percent-interest loans up to $40,000.
Grants available to very- low-income applicants ages 62 years or older unable to pay a 1 percent loan. Application Deadline: Rolling bases Funding Cap Per Application or Fiscal Year Program Funding: Up to $40,000 in loan, $10,000 in grant Loans may be used to repair, improve or modernize homes or remove health and safety hazards. Grants must be used to remove health and safety hazards.
