Strengthening public health efforts and partnerships to protect and improve health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) | Research Funding Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Strengthening public health efforts and partnerships to protect and improve health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aims to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous by improving Global Health Security (GHS) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
This effort supports the America First Global Health strategy and focuses on preventing, detecting, and responding to public health threats. Building on previous CDC-funded efforts to keep Americans safer and stronger, this NOFO applies time-bound evidence based frameworks, such as the 7-1-7 framework to support health security programs in partnership with the DRC Ministry of Health and other local institutions.
Frameworks such as the 7-1-7 framework establish timelines for action as follows: 7 days to detect a suspected outbreak, 1 day to alert public health authorities, and 7 days to initiate a response.
