Undergraduates who have elected a major in education and who are making satisfactory progress towards receiving a certificate to teach in the public schools of Iowa shall be entitled to preference, but students with other major areas of study shall also be eligible for selection at the discretion of the Board of Trustees. 2. The recipient shall be of a character which shall cause the Board of Trustees to feel that the recipient will become a worthy addition to the teaching profession or other field of endeavor and a credit to Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community High School. 3. Scholarship record and record of achievement at the Gladbrook Reinbeck Community High school shall be considered by the Board of Trustees but shall not be solely determinative in making the award.
