Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education FY 2026 Office of Finance and Operations Office of Finance and Operations Information Technology Branch Facilities and Operations Branch Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs Pupil Transportation and Emergency Management Branch Office of Equity Assurance and Compliance Procurement and Contract Management Branch Office of School Facilities Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education FY 2026 This grant provides support to the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) to increase the number of MAEOE Green Schools, increase the number of environmental educators who will provide MAEOE Green School training, support professional development and activities that incorporate environmental best practices in Maryland schools, and support statewide MAEOE Green School events.
The Maryland Green Schools Program is a sustainable school solution designed to integrate hands-on, inquiry-based instruction. The program is meant to empower youth to practically apply knowledge at school, at home, and in their communities to reduce environmental impact and encourage sustainable practices.
In Maryland, all pre-K to grade 12 public and independent schools are eligible to apply for the Maryland Green Schools award program that recognizes schools' efforts to enhance environmental sustainability.
Each year of the grant, MAEOE will submit an annual evaluation of this program's impact on the increase in the number of MAEOE Green Schools, access to professional development for more teachers, and impact on students' environmental literacy. Application for Participation When will the application be open? This Grant Information Guide (GIG) was released on May 15, 2025.
Application Submission Date June 15, 2025. No later than 5:00 pm EST. The total amount of funding available is $280,850.
Estimated Number of Grants Customer Service Support Sessions MSDE will hold one customer service support session for interested applicants. During this session, MSDE personnel will provide an overview of the application process.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students.
