Clean Fuel Advanced Technology (CFAT) Project Grant Funding | NC Clean Energy Technology Center Clean Fuel Advanced Technology (CFAT) Project Grant Funding Planning an Affordable, Resilient, and Sustainable Grid in North Carolina Rural Energy for America Program Renewable Energy Development Assistance Clean Fuel Advanced Technology (CFAT) Project Grant Funding Customer Rate Comparison Tool Solar-Plus for Electric Cooperatives The Request for Proposals (RFP) period has opened.
In 2025, up to $5,900,000 in federal funding is being awarded. Application Deadline: 5:00 PM, Friday, April 18, 2025 Projects located in the following counties are eligible for CFAT funding: Cabarrus, Catawba, *Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Durham, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Gaston, Granville, Guilford, *Haywood, *Iredell, Johnston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Nash, Orange, Person, Rowan, *Swain, Union, Wake, (*Represents partial counties).
Projects for electric vehicle charging stations (EVSE) will be accepted within all 100 counties. Technical Correction: Clarification of DC Fast Charging (DCFC) Project Requirements An inconsistency between the RFP, FAQ, and Application form caused confusion regarding the requirements for DCFC projects. To clarify, federal minimum charging standards do not specify a minimum for DCFC outside Alternative Fuel Corridors.
Since our eligibility focuses on projects beyond these corridors, DCFC projects do not need to meet a 150kW minimum per port. This clarification allows for a greater number of project proposals at lower power per DC port. An informational webinar was held on January 22, 2025.
