MINI GRANTS | Empower Local Communities Today — NATIONAL QUEER ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER ALLIANCE Resourcing Local Power, One Grant at a Time NQAPIA (the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance) believes that the most transformative work begins at the grassroots level — in living rooms, cultural centers, mutual aid collectives, and neighborhood meetings.

That’s why we created the Mini-Grants Program , which provides small grants to Queer and Trans Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) organizers across the United States. These mini-grants are more than just funding — they are investments in your vision, your leadership, and your community.

2026 Let Them Lead the Way West Coast Mini Grant To honor of the life and legacy of Marsha Aizumi, the Let Them Lead the Way Mini-Grant supports grassroots organizations serving LGBTQ+ Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities across the U.S. West Coast and Pacific regions.

This program provides funding for events and activities that strengthen community power, promote advocacy, and foster organizing and mobilization efforts. Eligible activities may include educational forums, leadership development workshops, community gatherings, and other initiatives that support LGBTQ+ AANHPI communities in the region. Grants of up to $1,000 are available for events occurring between July 1, 2026 - September 30, 2026.

Applications are now CLOSED. Applicants must be grassroots organizations or community groups explicitly serving LGBTQ+ AANHPI communities in one of the following locations: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam.

Since launching the Mini-Grant Program in 2024, NQAPIA has funded 18 grassroots projects to either pilot new initiatives or sustain existing programming in the areas of direct service, mutual aid, community organizing, civic engagement and advocacy, rapid response, and cultural awareness and celebration. These mini-grants reflect the brilliance, resilience, and diversity of our communities.

We focused on the U.S. South and Midwest regions in 2025, and will be launching mini-grant programs for the U.S. West Coast and Northeastern regions in 2026.
