2026-2027 Research Development Grants | National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships 2026-2027 Research Development Grants National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships 2026-2027 Research Development Grants The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Research Commission is seeking proposals for research grants focused on research on dual and concurrent enrollment programs.

Successful proposals will be funded between $500 - $2,000 in a research grant .

Preference will be given to grant proposals that address policies, practices, and topics that are of contemporary relevance and interest to the NACEP Board and NACEP Research Commission, including (listed in alphabetical order): Concurrent enrollment accreditation’s impact on quality Concurrent enrollment and the transition from high school to college Concurrent enrollment credit transfer and credit transfer policies Concurrent enrollment’s impact on high school and college outcomes, and factors that moderate this impact How concurrent enrollment influences educational equity and justice How concurrent enrollment programs engage, support, and develop faculty How concurrent enrollment recruitment and selection processes create more equitable access How multiple measures are used and impact dual enrollment eligibility State concurrent enrollment policies and their impact on high school completion and college access Concurrent and dual enrollment partnerships provide high school students the opportunity to take college credit-bearing courses.

NACEP defines concurrent enrollment as the subset of dual enrollment courses taught by college-approved high school teachers in a secondary environment. NACEP Research Development Grants are encouraged to focus on research about NACEP-defined concurrent enrollment. Research on other types of programs that allow high school students to earn transcripted college credit will also be considered.

$500-$2,000 one-time monetary award payable to the researcher or their institution Podium announcement of award during the 2026 NACEP National Conference Designated concurrent session for presentation during 2027 National Conference Completed research referenced on NACEP website NACEP will provide the recipient the following: Monetary Award: The Awardee will receive a one-time monetary award of up to $2,000.

Recognition: The Awardee's achievement is announced at the NACEP National Conference. Presentation Opportunity: A designated concurrent session or panel session will be provided to the awardee to present the completed research during the 2027 National Conference.

The Grant Recipient agrees to the following: Completion and Presentation: The Awardee agrees to complete the research and present the findings at the 2027 National Conference in San Antonio, Texas in October 2027. If research is still in process, the awardee agrees to present findings to date or to arrange for an alternative, mutually agreed upon format to share findings.

The Awardee understands that NACEP does not provide travel additional support to attend the National Conference. Funds from the grant may be applied to support participation. Use of Grant Funds: The grant funds shall be used solely for the purposes outlined in the approved research proposal.

NACEP does not require fiscal reporting of the use of funds from the institution or individual. Acknowledgment: As appropriate, the Awardee will acknowledge NACEP in any publications resulting from the research, as appropriate. Reporting: The Awardee will provide one progress update to the NACEP Research Commission by March 1, 2027 or mutually decided date.

The grant award is open to individuals who are planning to conduct research that can be completed for presentation at the 2026 National Conference. Applicants may be from secondary or post-secondary institutions, state agencies, or education organizations including faculty, program staff, administrators, graduate students and others. Complete applications must be received by 11:59 pm PST, Tuesday , July 7, 2027 .

Disbursement, Use, and Management of Awarded Funds Awarded proposals can expect payment roughly 30 days following the podium announcement at the 2026 National Conference. Questions about payment or payment status can be directed to Eric Hoover . The funds are awarded up-front and not through reimbursement.

The funds may be dispersed as a one-time sum or divided between the start of the award period and the end of the award period. Applicants may specify if there is a preference upon being notified of the award. NACEP has the final say in how funds are dispersed.

Funds may be paid to an individual, organization, or an institution. Indirect costs for a given award shall not exceed 10% of the award amount. The award period concludes at the following year’s national conference.

Awardees are expected to have spent awarded funds by the conclusion of the award period. The funds may not be used for the activities of lobbying or for any activities that are illegal or unethical. NACEP does not require a detailed budget or financial reporting.

However, recipients are expected to track expenditures at a level that allows them to identify how the funds were used, if requested by NACEP. Funds awarded for research that is not initiated during the award period shall be returned to NACEP.

Proposals must include the following: Title & Abstract (limit 250 words) Purpose of the research (limit 250 words) Methodology (limit 500 words) Summary of how the research will impact concurrent enrollment policy and practice (limit 250 words) A timeline indicating completion in time for presentation at the October 2027 conference Name of key personnel with abbreviated vitae or biographical sketches A brief description of budget and how funds will be used Deadlines and Application Procedures Proposals should be submitted as a single PDF file, using the included coversheet that follows, to research@nacep.

org . Early submissions are encouraged. Only complete proposal packages will be accepted.

Research proposals will be reviewed by a NACEP Research Commission committee using the following criteria: Extent to which the research addresses the NACEP Board and NACEP Research Commission priorities described above Quality of research design Originality, creativity, and coherence of overall proposal Significance of the research to the concurrent enrollment leaders and practitioners Technical quality of the proposal (e.g., references, writing style) Potential impact on and contribution to the field Applicants will be notified by August 31, 2026 of the award decision.
