Eligibility & Guidelines — Three Arches Foundation 2026 Annual Grant Cycle - Opens July 1st Information for Nonprofit Organizations Inspired by our mission, Three Arches Foundation invests in the advancement of solutions that impact equitable access to care, specifically efforts that remove barriers and improve behavioral and physical health.
For the 2026 grant cycle, the Foundation is prioritizing requests from nonprofit organizations that have previously received funding support, as we are currently engaged in a planning process to refine our grantmaking approach. When developing your proposal keep in mind this is a competitive process.
Requests receive the strongest consideration when they meet the criteria below: Purpose Alignment – Request aligns with our mission and funding priority area of equitable access to behavioral and/or physical health care faced by those most impacted by health disparities Geographic Focus - Organization has an established presence within TAF’s geographic focus of Lakewood and surrounding communities, and the proposed work directly serves a significant number of people in this area Experience - Organization has demonstrated experience and a proven track record in delivering behavioral and/or physical health care programs and services Leveraged Resources - Proposed work addresses a demonstrated need in an approach that leverages community and organizational partnerships and resources Evaluation and Learning – A thoughtful and realistic plan is in place to monitor progress, measure outcomes, and assess effectiveness of the work Use of Funds : Grant funds may be used for: Capacity Building – strengthening an organization’s infrastructure, leadership, or systems to be more effective and sustainable Pilot Project – testing a new idea on a small scale to learn how it might work on a broader scale and in practice Program Support or Development – costs associated with current, new, or expanded programs and services General Operating – exclusively available for an organization whose core mission centers on behavioral and/or physical health programs or services.
Typically, the requested grant amount does not exceed 10% of the annual organizational budget. If interested, a conversation must be scheduled with Kristin Broadbent at kbroadbent@threearches.
org before submitting a Request Summary ( noted below ) Three Arches Foundation does not make grants in support of endowments, research, or debt retirement; capital or fundraising campaigns (including annual appeals), fundraising events, or membership drives; scholarships; or to government entities or religious organizations. Award Size: Grants typically range from $25,000 up to $100,000.
Grant Funding Term: Grants are currently awarded on a one-year basis. Joint Request: The Foundation encourages collaboration and partnership among its grantees and will consider a joint request from multiple applicants, even if one of the applicants plans to submit a separate request.
A proposal is considered joint if two or more organizations are working together on a project, at least two of the organizations receive a portion of the grant funds, and the lead organization is a current or past grantee. These conversations offer an opportunity to reconnect, reflect on any changes, enhancements, or challenges since the prior grant period, and receive general guidance on continued alignment with TAF’s funding priority area and stated criteria before investing time in preparing materials.
Our grant proposal process includes multiple steps: Step 1 – Discovery Process: All organizations must begin by submitting a Request Summary through TAF’s online portal . The Request Summary is available July 1, and due no later than July 24. Late submissions will not be accepted .
Organizations submitting a Request Summary will be notified via email between August 13-14 whether they are invited to advance to the application step. Step 2 – Application Process: While an invitation to submit an Application does not guarantee funding, it does mean your request warrants deeper review. The Application is available August 14, and due no later than September 4.
Applications are reviewed and evaluated by staff and directors. During this stage, we may also schedule a conversation or reach out with questions to obtain additional insight on proposal elements. Step 3 – Funding Decision: Final funding decisions are made by the TAF Board of Directors on November 12.
Applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome by November 16. A decision by the Foundation to decline a grant request is not a reflection of the value or quality of the proposed work.
