Grant Opportunities at Central Kansas Community Foundation and its Affiliates Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF) offers grant funding through competitive grant cycles, discretionary/designated grants, and, for some funds, a Letter of Inquiry process.

Competitive grants are administered through published application periods and reviewed collectively following the close of the application window using objective review considerations to support fair, consistent, and transparent funding decisions. CKCF has transitioned its competitive grantmaking from multiple monthly timelines to a quarterly grant cycle.

Each competitive grant cycle is unique to the geographic area served by CKCF or one of its affiliate foundations. Applicants should review the application carefully for qualifiers related to fund availability, including the type of grant and category of purpose. All grant requests are reviewed in accordance with CKCF’s Funding Policy and due diligence requirements and must comply with applicable IRS regulations.

An organization with IRS-recognized tax-exempt status that agrees to receive and manage grant funds on behalf of a project or group without its own tax-exempt status and is responsible for ensuring funds are used for the approved charitable purpose in compliance with CKCF requirements. In-kind support refers to items or services provided for your project at no cost and items your organization will contribute to the project.

However, you should still list the fee normally charged for the same service. For example, if a landlord donated office space to your organization, you should list the market value of the rent. Applications by invitation are occasionally available through Central Kansas Community Foundation and its Affiliates.

2025 Grant Impact Reports 2026 Grant Impact Reports Grant Agreement Process Update – Effective July 1, 2025 Beginning July 1, 2025 , all grant recipients will be required to complete a Grant Award Agreement through our updated online process. This signed agreement must be submitted before any grant funds can be disbursed. An authorized representative of the recipient organization will be asked to complete the form electronically.

Instructions will be provided as part of the grant award notification. This update aligns with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations and supports a more efficient and consistent grantmaking process across all CKCF affiliates.
