Grants | Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas Each year, the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas grants thousands of dollars to nonprofits in the Southeast Kansas region for projects in arts and culture, human needs, children and youth activities, youth volunteerism, at-risk youth, and women’s health through competitive grant-application processes.
The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas has several options for organizations that are looking for grant funding. Agencies can apply for funds during the following grant cycles: February: Mount Carmel Foundation Legacy Endowment grants offer support ranging between $5,000 and $100,000 to nonprofit healthcare providers with healthcare-related projects.
February: Bill House Agricultural Grants supports the educational needs of farmers and ranchers in Kansas and Oklahoma. These grants focus on educational programs, training opportunities, and events that strengthen agricultural knowledge and sustainability. March: The Dylan Meier Get Busy Livin’ Foundation offers a grant opportunity specifically for youth volunteerism in the Southeast Kansas region.
GBL grant applications are available during March. April: The Elm Acres Foundation awards grants for programs that address the needs of at-risk youth in Crawford, Cherokee, and Labette Counties. Elm Acres grant applications are available during April.
May: The Knights of Columbus Endowment grants are for projects addressing housing needs in Crawford County. Knights of Columbus grant applications are available during May. June: The Community Impact Grants (formerly CFSEK General Fund Grants) are available in the areas of basic human needs, youth activities, and arts and culture.
Community Impact Grant applications are available during June. August: The Future Fund Giving Circle makes grants possible for nonprofits, schools, and religious or governmental organizations within Crawford County, Kansas. Future Fund grant applications are available during August.
September: The Rita J. Bicknell Women’s Health Fund Women’s Giving Circle and Circle of Friends provide grants to improve the health and well-being of women by supporting education, increasing awareness, and sharing quality-of-life opportunities that benefit all women.
Our affiliates , the Columbus Area Community Foundation , Fort Scott Area Community Foundation , and Girard Area Community Foundation , also offer their own competitive grant cycles. Fort Scott and Girard cycles run during August, while Columbus applications are reviewed quarterly.
