Participants will be guided through the process of outlining a relevant evangelism experiment, leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired during the cohort training. The Fall 2026 round of Local Church Cohorts is now open to applications. Eligibility – These Cohorts are not available to churches or organizations that have previously received an Equipping the Local Church or Local Church Cohort Grant.

Who is eligible to apply for a grant? The Foundation for Evangelism works with Wesleyan-tradition denominations, leaders, laity and congregations. The specifics of eligibility can be found on the specific Open grant cycles page.

There are some basics, though. Organizations seeking grants must be: part of a Wesleyan-tradition denomination based and operating in the United States We DO NOT provide grants for: capital improvements including building renovations or new buildings mission programs or trips How do I apply for a grant? Open grant cycles can be accessed through our Open Grant Cycles page.

We do not accept applications for projects or causes outside of these cycles. What if English is not my (or my church's) first language? Depending on the grant cycles open at the time , we may be able to connect you with someone to assist in the grant application process .

Please contact grants @foundationforevangelism. org . What do you mean by "Wesleyan tradition?"

We use the phrase “Wesleyan tradition” to describe an approach to the Christian faith and discipleship that showcases awareness, understanding, and implementation of the practices and teachings attributed to the movement begun by John and Charles Wesley. Theirs is a practical theology central to the life and identity of every Christian.

This identity is evidenced by a focus on the God of love who, through Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, makes it possible for that love to transform hearts and lives. Relying on God’s proactive grace, it strongly encourages systemic spiritual practices, and works through the faith community to actively share the Good News and invite persons everywhere to a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.
