Adoption Grants | A Child Waits Foundation For 2026, we are accepting applications for our Domestic and International Grant Programs. Our programs are active and our process is ongoing; grants are awarded weekly, families are welcome to apply at any time throughout the year and at any stage of their adoption after they have a completed homestudy.
Domestic Grant Application International Grant Application Exciting Update to Our Application Process We no longer charge an application fee and families may now email their application. Our mission is to promote the domestic and International adoption of children who are currently living without the love and security of a permanent family and to support domestic adoption of babies by offering grants to help with the cost of adoption.
Our purpose is to help prevent a waiting child from not having a permanent home by providing a family with financial assistance to support their adoption. International Adoption Grants Families who are adopting a child from any country in the world are welcome to apply for a grant through our International Adoption Grant Program. Applications are accepted from singles and couples who are United States or Canadian Citizens.
Applications are accepted from United States or Canadian Citizens for our Domestic Adoption Grant Program. Families who are adopting an infant, older or special needs child, or from foster care if expenses are not covered by the state, are welcome to apply. Our foundation is actively awarding grants of up to $8,000 for both our domestic and international programs.
We are available by phone from 9-4 EST, Monday-Friday and respond promptly to all inquiries. Status of Your Application We contact families when we receive their application and remain in contact with them throughout the application process. Communication & Grant Decision Please be sure to respond to our calls, emails and text messages.
Applications will not be presented to the Board for a grant decision without required communication with our applicants. Funds can be Paid to the Family Grants can be provided directly to the family provided they are paid in full with their adoption professionals. In 2024/25, we awarded over 300 grants which resulted in the adoption of 339 children.
In 2026, we continue to award grants weekly. Since our inception we have provided grants and loans to 2794 families which led to the adoption of 3484 children. Non-Discrimination Policy Applications are evaluated without regard to race, age, ethnicity, religion, gender, marital status, sexual orientation or disability.
We welcome grant applications from singles or couples adopting domestically or internationally.
