A Little HOPE, Inc. is a not-for-profit publicly supported charitable foundation, recognized by the IRS under 501 (c)(3), which grants funds to organizations that provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children, teens and young adults, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or loved one, regardless of the circumstances of the death.
To be considered, email (no telephone calls): name of your program, your website address, name of your executive director, name of the program director, and the location of your program. No other information is needed or will be processed. Do not send letters of inquiry or any other materials unless they have been requested by A Little Hope.
No other organizations are authorized to solicit RFP’s or information on our behalf. If your organization has previously sent an email request for consideration, it has been reviewed and is in our active files for future reference. There is no need for you to send it again.
Please do not send it multiple times. If you have previously received a grant from us there is also no need to send a request for consideration. Grant applications are by invitation only and are sent to potential grant recipients during the month of October each year.
Email – granting@alittlehope. org Prior to the existence of A Little Hope, there was not a single national organization dedicated to raising awareness and the money to advance the growth of children’s grief support and the expansion of bereavement centers, school outreach programs and camps for grieving children and teens in the United States.
During the past 14 years, we have grown from a regional organization funding five bereavement programs in the tri-state area, into a national foundation that has funded a total of 94 organizations in 39 states.
We have expanded our scope from providing bereavement support services to 350 children and teens that had a family member die in the World Trade Center, to providing services for more than 250,000 American children, adolescents and young adults.
In 2016 A Little Hope is proud to continue several innovative programs: Comfort Zone Camp – 2nd Annual Suicide Loss Family Bereavement Camp (May) Experience Camps for Boys & Girls – 2nd Annual Kennbyrook Experience, New York Camp (August) and Inclusion Initiative (2016-2017) Inclusion Trainings/Community Outreach/Program Creation initiative A Little Hope’s 2016 program support includes: Common Ground Grief Center(New Jersey); The Alcove Center for Grieving Children & Families (New Jersey); The Shore Grief Center (Wake Forest, North Carolina); Tomorrow’s Rainbow (Coconut Creek, Broward County, Florida); A Caring Hand – The Billy Esposito Bereavement Center (New York/Harlem Expansion).

The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Teams of high school students in grades 9 through 12 residing in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, or Suffolk counties develop project ideas through coaching from local professionals, then pitch their proposals to a live panel of judges. Winning teams receive $1,000 to $2,000 in grant funding to execute their community-strengthening visions. The program builds career skills including public speaking, project management, and team collaboration, while cultivating cross-socioeconomic connections among peers and mentors throughout the region.
Improving Veteran Mental Health Grant Program is a grant from The Cigna Group Foundation that funds nonprofits providing housing stability and wraparound support services to improve the mental health of military veterans. The Foundation committed $9 million over three years addressing housing instability and its mental health impacts, as an estimated 40,000 veterans go without shelter nightly and 1.5 million are at risk of homelessness. Funded programs include mortgage and rental assistance, employment re-entry training, and housing development for veterans. Eligible nonprofits must leverage evidence-informed programs and align with at least one goal: increasing permanent housing, improving housing affordability, or enhancing wraparound services for veterans transitioning from shelters.
