Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grant Program - Cultural Grants is sponsored by ACT Government (Australia). This opportunity supports mission-aligned projects and measurable outcomes.

Two ACT Government grant programs open - Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander - Elected Body Two ACT Government grant programs open Two ACT Government grant programs open ACT Government grants are now open under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grant Program and the ACT Reconciliation Day program. Applications will close at 3 pm on 7 January 2025.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grant Program The grants are available for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals to apply for up to $5,000, and eligible organisations to apply for up to $10,000, under the Culture and Leadership categories. An additional Scholarship category is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals only.

Leadership Grants: support community leadership, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a strong voice, are decision makers on issues that impact them, and lead through the achievement of positive life outcomes. Scholarship Grants: support lifelong learning, empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to engage in lifelong learning (only individuals can apply).

This Grant Program supports the ACT Government’s commitments under the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019-2028, creating a society that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to exercise self-determination, while also building a respectful, fair, and inclusive community.

Apply at Funding to celebrate culture, improve leadership skills, or assist with lifelong learning – ACT Government Reconciliation Day Grants These grants were introduced to support individuals and organisations to hold meaningful initiatives in the lead-up to, during, or in support of the Reconciliation Day Public Holiday on 2 June 2025 and Reconciliation Week held between 27 May and 3 June 2025.

Individuals and organisations can apply for up to $5,000 to undertake relevant projects/activities. Some examples could include: Promoting understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in the wider community. Celebrating and raising the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in the wider community.

Promoting understanding of past policies and historical events and their impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Delivering opportunities for children, young people, and Elders to be involved and participate in community events that promote Reconciliation. Developing seminars and/or panel discussions on the importance of Reconciliation for all Australians.
