Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program – Sport Central Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program Sport and Recreation Victoria have launched the first round of the Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program.
Through the Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program assistance is provided to Aboriginal Victorians to participate in Aboriginal sporting carnivals, buy sports uniforms and equipment, as well as funding for travel and accommodation expenses for athletes to compete in state and national competitions.
Grants are available in the following categories: Aboriginal Sporting Carnivals – Grants of up to $2,500 per junior team and $1,500 per senior team for travel and accommodation costs for teams to participate in State-wide or National Carnivals. Uniforms or Equipment – Grants of up to $1,000 per team, club and association and up to $250 per individual to purchase sporting uniforms and/or equipment.
Athlete Participation Support – Grants of up to $750 for athletes and coaches to assist with travel and accommodation costs to compete or train in regional, state and national competitions or representative teams. Club Development Workshop Series Sports Central, in partnership with Golden Plains Shire Council and Moorabool Shire Council, is delivering a free Club Development Workshop Series designed to strengthen community sporting clubs across the region.
This series provides practical, hands-on learning opportunities for committee members, volunteers, coaches and emerging leaders, with a focus on leadership, governance, inclusion and sustainable club development. Set The Standard is a VicHealth initiative supporting club leaders across Victoria with practical tools to prevent and reduce racism and promote more welcoming environments.
To grow the campaign across Victoria, Set The Standard is running a limited-time mailing list promotion from 18 May to 14 June.
