Academic & Research Technology Grants is sponsored by University of North Florida (UNF). Supports UNF faculty in developing innovative technology projects that enhance teaching, research, and creative activities.

UNF: Graduate Research Grant Applications closed for 2025 - 2026. We are not accepting grant applications for the current academic year. Check back in fall 2026 to apply.

Last year, the UNF Graduate School awarded more than $80,000 in grants to help students pursue experiences that advance their scholarship, fuel their creativity and open doors for their careers. Each semester we award a limited number of grants across two categories.

Research and creative activities: Covers expenses directly tied to your research or creative work such as travel to a research site, supplies, equipment or data sets you need for your project. Sharing your research: Helps you get your work out into the world such as article processing fees, conference registration and travel or costs for a musical performance or recording.

Note: you must be presenting at a conference, not just attending. You may apply for up to $1,000 in one category per application. If approved, you will receive the amount you requested as long as the expenses are allowable and within the maximum award amount.

Master's students may apply once per academic year (fall, spring or summer). Doctoral students may apply twice per academic year (fall, spring or summer). You must meet all of the following requirements when you apply and continue to meet them through the semester your grant is paid out.

Completed at least 6 credit hours in your program GPA of 3. 5 or higher (good academic standing) Enrolled in at least 1 credit hour during the award term (audited courses don't count) Active UNF student when the research or creative activity takes place Working independently or in a small group of 3 to 4 students (class group activities are not eligible) Not sure if your activity qualifies? Grants are awarded on a first-come first-served basis and funding is limited, so apply early. Your application must be submitted before your activity starts and before the term end date listed in the Academic Calendar . You can submit as early as the start of the term before your activity takes place.

Example 1: Your conference is in spring. You can apply as early as the start of fall term. Example 2: Your activity is this summer.

You can apply now (during spring term) or during summer term itself, as long as it's before the summer term end date and funding is still available. Note: Applications for activities occurring during the summer must be submitted by May 15th due to budgetary constraints/fiscal year end. What do I need to include?

Proof of your activity (such as a conference acceptance letter or a research or creative proposal) A list of estimated expenses Confirmation that you plan to present at a Student Research Symposium (fall, spring or summer) or submit to the PANDION journal How do I submit in myWings?

Click Student under "My Resources" Select Banner Self Service under "Student Resources" Select the appropriate application under Graduate School Track your application status by clicking Online Form Status in myWings. Multiple approvals are required before the Graduate School can process your application.
