Accelerate Entrepreneur is sponsored by Mitacs. Mitacs Accelerate Entrepreneur supports student, postdoctoral, and recent graduate entrepreneurs in Canada who are commercializing the core research or technology of an incorporated start-up through approved-incubator internships. While primarily focused on internships, it helps startups optimize budgets and provides financial support for piloting, refining, and commercializing new technology, products, or services.
Mitacs Elevate Program is a fellowship program from Mitacs that supports postdoctoral fellows at Canadian postsecondary institutions in conducting applied research in partnership with industry. The program brings together postdoctoral researchers, academic supervisors, and industry or nonprofit partners to tackle complex challenges and advance new ideas through collaborative, knowledge-transfer focused projects. Funded projects begin at four months with opportunities to scale in duration and scope. The program is open to for-profit and not-for-profit organizations and enables commercialization of research breakthroughs, development of cutting-edge solutions, and exploration of new markets. Postdoctoral fellows at Canadian postsecondary institutions are the primary eligible applicants.
