Girls and women with specific career goals and a path for achieving them should apply for an Achieve Grant. The grant is designed for girls and women who have encountered significant financial barriers in pursuing their education after high school.
Preference will be given to girls and women who fall into one or more of the following categories: First generation college students Non-traditional students/adult learners – 25 years or older Women who seek a diploma certification for high demand job functions in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and/or Yates counties at a technical school, college or university Girls and women who have overcome a significant challenge in their lives Application period: Annually November 1st – March 1st Notification: Annually each June The Fund for Women of the Southern Tier, Inc. exists to help girls and women achieve economic self-sufficiency and realize life goals through grants in the areas of education, health, wellness, career and life skills.
Established in 2009, the Fund is the first funding stream dedicated solely to helping improve the lives of girls and women residing in the Southern Tier counties of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates in New York State.
