Advanced Nursing Education Workforce Grant | School of Nursing Advanced Nursing Education Workforce Grant UNH Advanced Education Nursing Workforce The UNH Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) program provides funding to Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students training in rural and underserved settings.
ANEW also supports professional development opportunities for preceptors, clinical sites and faculty. ANEW programming is focused on addressing many of NH and New England’s health and social challenges, including patient access to behavioral health and substance use treatment in primary care.
Additionally, ANEW is focused on advancing health care and workforce policy changes that are person centered delivering team-based high-quality care. Awards are up to $25,000 per year. Part-time students (taking less than 9 credit hours per semester) are only eligible in their final year of the program.
Students must apply for the award at the beginning of each term. Preceptors involved in the program receive continuing education units (CEUs) through educational training on leading-edge topics, including value-based reimbursement, behavioral health, substance use disorder and telepractice. Preceptors are invited to participate in UNH Project ECHO® sessions, a virtual case-based all-teach, all-learn model.
Preceptors can receive funds to attend additional conferences and training opportunities. The UNH ANEW grant is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration. It is jointly administered and managed by the UNH School of Nursing and the Institute for Health Policy and Practice .
