AFSC Reparative Justice and Healing Fund is sponsored by American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). This fund supports Black-led and Indigenous-led organizations and projects across the United States working to address systemic injustice and promote community healing.

In the United States, we work alongside communities to challenge the root causes of economic inequality, mass incarceration, housing discrimination, attacks on immigrant and treaty rights, and environmental injustice.

This work is rooted not only in our values, but also in an honest reckoning with history. Quaker institutions, including those connected to AFSC, have at times been complicit in harm to Black and Indigenous communities—from participation in the transatlantic slave economy and systemic racism to the dispossession of Indigenous lands and forced assimilation.

At the same time, Quakers have also contributed courageously to movements for abolition and civil rights. We recognize this legacy as complex and unfinished, and that our commitment to justice today requires both accountability and repair.

In that spirit and grounded in our Quaker belief of “letting our lives speak,” we are pleased to announce the third year of AFSC’s Reparative Justice and Healing Fund, which supports Black- and Indigenous-led social justice organizations and projects across the United States.

This initiative is an expression of our faith and part of our ongoing effort to acknowledge past and present harm, strengthen relationships, and build power by shifting resources to community-led work that advances healing, agency, and justice.
