South Dakota Ag Foundation Opens Applications for Two Grant Programs Supporting Youth, Education, and Agricultural Innovation — South Dakota Ag Foundation South Dakota Ag Foundation Opens Applications for Two Grant Programs Supporting Youth, Education, and Agricultural Innovation The South Dakota Ag Foundation is now accepting applications for two grant programs designed to support youth-led community projects and agricultural education across the state: the Building Rural Communities Grant Program and the Ag Innovators Youth Education Grant Program.
Both grant programs opened for applications on January 1, 2026, with completed applications due by March 1, 2026. Applications may be submitted online or by mail. “These grant programs are about investing in people and ideas that strengthen agriculture and rural communities for the long term,” said Kyle Holt, CEO of the South Dakota Ag Foundation.
“Whether it’s youth-led community projects or innovative education and leadership programs, we’re proud to support efforts that help prepare the next generation and keep agriculture strong across South Dakota.
” Building Rural Communities (BRC) Grant The Building Rural Communities Grant is available to 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, and FCCLA chapters to support community improvement or public safety projects that strengthen rural South Dakota.
Eligible applicants: 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA chapters Funding amount: Up to $750 per project Focus areas: Community improvement and public safety Application window: January 1 – March 1, 2026 Ag Innovators (AI) Youth Education Grant Program The Ag Innovators (AI) Youth Education Grant Program supports public non-profit organizations that are implementing or expanding programs focused on agriculture education, innovation, and leadership development.
Eligible applicants: Public nonprofit organizations Funding amount: $500 to $10,000 per project Focus areas: Agriculture education, innovation, and leadership development Application window: January 1 – March 1, 2026 Applications opened: January 1, 2026 Application deadline: March 1, 2026 Submission options: Online or by mail Program details and applications The South Dakota Ag Foundation’s grant programs reflect its mission to enrich agriculture for generations to come by supporting youth leadership, education, and community-driven solutions throughout rural South Dakota.
