AGA-Torrey Coast Foundation Fellowship-to-Faculty Transition Award in Upper GI Cancer This award provides $65,000 annually for two years ($130,000 total) to clinical or postdoctoral fellows seeking to protect time for clinical or translational research in preparation for careers as independent investigators in gastroenterology studying gastroesophageal cancer.

Accepting Applications Now AGA Student Abstract Award This $500 travel award supports recipients who are graduate students, medical students or medical residents (residents up to postgraduate year three) giving abstract-based oral or poster presentations at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). The top scoring abstract will be designated the Student Abstract of the Year and receive a $1,000 award.
Four recipients will receive the AGA–Eric Esrailian Student Abstract Prize and four recipients will receive the AGA–Radhika Srinivasan Student Abstract Prize.
AGA-Aman Armaan Ahmed Family SURF for Success Program These summer undergraduate research fellowships (SURF) support undergraduate students from groups traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research to perform 10 weeks of research related to digestive diseases under the mentorship of top investigators in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology.
The award provides a stipend and opportunities to learn about future training and career options. AGA-Dr. Harvey Young Education & Development Foundation’s Young Guts Scholars Program This program supports undergraduate students from racial, ethnic and/or other groups traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research to perform mentored research related to digestive diseases throughout the academic year.
The award provides a stipend, AGA membership, and a travel allowance to attend Digestive Disease Week®. AGA-Takeda Pharmaceuticals Research Scholar Award in Inflammatory Bowel Disease This award provides $100,000 per year for three years (totaling $300,000) to early-career faculty (i.e., investigator, instructor, research associate or equivalent) working toward an independent career in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research.
AGA Research Scholar Award (RSA) This award provides $100,000 per year for three years (totaling $300,000) to early-career faculty (i.e., investigator, instructor, research associate or equivalent) working toward an independent career in digestive disease research.
AGA-Bern Schwartz Family Fund Research Scholar Award in Pancreatic Cancer (Fund B) This award provides $100,000 per year for three years (totaling $300,000) to early-career faculty (i.e., investigator, instructor, research associate or equivalent) working toward an independent career in digestive disease research.
AGA Fellow Abstract Award This $500 travel award supports recipients who are MD, PhD or equivalent fellows giving abstract-based oral or poster presentations at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). Research involving precancerous lesions will be considered if relevance to gastric cancer is explicitly outlined.
