The lifecycle of grants and cooperative agreements consists of four phases: Pre-Award, Award, Post-Award, and Close Out. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is committed to serving its stakeholders, Congress, and the public by using new technologies to advance greater openness.

Technical Assistance Webinar: The Equipment Grants Program (EGP) The Equipment Grants Program seeks to provide eligible institutions with the opportunity to acquire a shared-use piece of equipment/instrument that supports their research, research training, and extension goals. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture provides leadership and funding for programs that advance agriculture-related sciences.
Information about the program area priority including program contacts, types of projects allowed, and more will be found in Part I, C of each NOFO. Letters of Intent (if applicable) and applications must be received at NIFA by 5:00 p. m.
Eastern Time on the deadlines listed below for each program. Dates are listed in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Please note that for programs that accept workshop grants, LOIs are required for workshop grants and must be submitted at least 195 days before the start of the workshop for the Foundational and Applied Science Program Workshop Grants and at least 255 days before the workshop begins for the Education and Workforce Development Program Workshop Grants.
The full workshop grant application must be submitted, at minimum, 150 days before the start of the workshop for the Foundational and Applied Science Program Workshop Grants and a minimum of 210 days before the workshop begins for the Education and Workforce Development Program Workshop Grants. Please see Part I, C of the NOFO for each program area priority in order to determine if it allows workshop grants.
