The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and the Texas Agricultural Finance Authority (TAFA) received more than 1,100 applications requesting funding. TDA is committed to ensuring that every application receives a timely, thorough, and fair review in accordance with the published program requirements and evaluation criteria.
During the June 11, 2026 TAFA Board meeting, the award timeline was adjusted to allow sufficient time for the review and evaluation process. Applicants should anticipate receiving notification regarding the status of their application by November 15, 2026 .
The Agriculture Production Resource Opportunity (AgPro) Grant Program, administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), under the direction of the Texas Agricultural Finance Authority (TAFA), provides funding to help Texas producers improve, expand, and strengthen their agricultural operations through strategic investments in equipment, infrastructure, and efficiency.
The Agriculture Grant Program (AGP) was created by the Texas Legislature in 2025 for the purpose of maintaining agricultural businesses, maintaining agricultural uses of land, or fostering supply chain resiliency or the creation and expansion of agricultural businesses by people in this state. The AgPro Grant Program was created as one of the subprograms under the AGP.
Agricultural Producer is defined as an individual or entity directly engaged in the production of agricultural products for commercial purposes, including crops (including farming); livestock (including ranching); forestry products; hydroponics; nursery stock; or aquaculture, whereby 50 percent or greater of their gross income is derived from those products. Grant awards under this program will be made in amounts no less than $5,000 and no more than $500,000 per Grant Recipient. Grant Recipients will be required to provide a cost share toward the total project cost, with the required match determined in accordance with program guidelines.
