What this program offers Information for Manitoba producers affected by weather events and flooding To help Manitoba producers impacted by significant early summer rains and resulting flooding in June and July (2026), the governments of Canada and Manitoba have agreed to the following targeted AgriStability enhancements: waiving the 2025 application late filing penalty increasing the 2026 interim payment rate from 50% to 75% late participation for 2026 Waiving the 2025 application late filing penalty The 2025 application late filing penalty will be waived for Manitoba producers impacted by flooding and farm in a municipality or First Nation community that has declared a state of emergency due to flooding.

The late filing penalty ($500 per month reduction in benefits) will be waived for forms received between July 1 and September 30, 2026. If you have not yet filed your 2025 form, you must file it by the September 30, 2026 final deadline to be eligible for program benefits.

If the Administration has processed your 2025 form with a late filing penalty applied, your form will be reprocessed to remove the penalty and any additional benefits will be issued to you.

Producers farming outside of the designated areas who missed the initial June 30, 2026 filing deadline because of flooding impacts may have their individual circumstances considered by completing and submitting an Appeal Submission Form to the Administration. See How do you submit an appeal for more information. Increasing the 2026 interim payment rate from 50% to 75% An interim payment lets you access AgriStability funds early.

It is based on estimates of your program year production margin and reference margin. To receive an interim payment, your estimated program year margin must decline by more than 30% of your estimated reference margin. For the 2026 program year, the interim payment rate for Manitoba producers will increase from 50% to 75% of the estimated final benefit.

The deadline to apply for a 2026 interim payment is March 31, 2027. If you have already received a 2026 interim payment, the Administration will automatically issue you a top-up to the 75% level. Late participation for 2026 If you are a Manitoba producer who missed the April 30, 2026 deadline to enrol in AgriStability for 2026, you can still participate in the program as a late participant with a reduced benefit.

To participate as a late participant you must pay an up-front fee before your 2026 form will be processed. The deadline to pay the up-front fee and submit a 2026 form is September 30, 2027. See 2026 AgriStability late participation for producers in Manitoba for more information.

Important information for the 2026 program year Pasture-related feed costs are an allowable expense starting with the 2026 program year Pasture-related feed costs have been added as an allowable expense for AgriStability. Tax-aligned reference margins and coverage notices You can now choose to have your reference margins calculated based on the same method of accounting you file to tax (cash or accrual) going forward. To increase the predictability of the program, you can receive a coverage notice that provides an estimate of your reference margin and coverage level for the current program year. Important information for the 2025 program year Late participation for producers in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia If you farm in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, or Nova Scotia, and are experiencing financial challenges because of the extremely dry conditions, AgriStability can help.

The Government of Canada and the Governments of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia have agreed to: 2025 late participation for New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia Compensation rate and payment limit increases Due to the ongoing challenges facing producers, temporary changes have been made to AgriStability for the 2025 program year only, including: The compensation rate has increased from 80% to 90% If your 2025 margin falls more than 30% below your historical reference margin, you could receive a benefit AgriStability will cover 90% of the loss for every dollar below the threshold The maximum payment limit has doubled from $3 million to $6 million to ensure that more producers receive support at a level appropriate to their farm size AgriStability is one of the Business Risk Management programs under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) .

AgriStability protects Canadian producers against large declines in farming income for reasons such as production loss, increased costs and market conditions. AgriStability is a margin based program designed to help producers manage large income declines. Each year, you must enrol in the program, pay your fee and submit a form by the applicable deadlines.

You may receive a payment if your production margin in the current year falls below your historical reference margin by more than 30%.
