Register a Member Account AHA: Advancing Humans with AI The AHA Micro Grant at the MIT Media Lab provides $5,000 to $10,000 in funding to support innovative projects that explore AI and Human Flourishing through scientific and artistic endeavors with meaningful impact potential.
This program seeks projects focused on AI technologies that advance human wellbeing and flourishing, encompassing scientific research, artistic projects, and interdisciplinary work. Successful proposals should demonstrate clear pathways to real-world applications, academic publications, or demonstrable societal benefit.
Projects will be evaluated based on: High Impact - Potential for significant positive outcomes and scalable benefits to human flourishing Alignment with AHA's Mission - Clear connection to advancing AI for human flourishing Uniqueness/Media Lab Style - Visionary, creativity, and interdisciplinary approach characteristic of Media Lab's experimental culture Applications are reviewed starting mid-July and should be submitted through the form below.
Proposal Requirements: Submissions should be 1-2 pages in length, clearly outlining the main idea, expected outcomes, how it contributes to the AHA research goal on AI for human flourishing , and brief timeline for the proposed project. To encourage collaboration across research groups, projects involving partnerships between multiple groups may be considered for enhanced funding levels.
Please note that only Media Lab researchers are eligible for the Micro Grant.
