Call for applications to support AI-driven projects advancing science and safety - EU Funding This initiative is open to individuals, teams, and organizations—both non-profit and for-profit—and offers grant funding ranging from USD 10,000 to USD 100,000.
Support is distributed across eight distinct focus areas, including AI for security, decentralized and cooperative AI, longevity biotechnology, molecular nanotechnology, and brain-computer interfaces. Projects will be prioritized based on their alignment with these focus areas, their feasibility within short artificial general intelligence (AGI) timelines, their open-source preference, and their potential to reduce existential risks.
Rather than just providing financial backing, the program offers a comprehensive ecosystem that includes zero-cost office space and local, private compute resources. To foster peer collaboration and community, the Foresight Institute strongly prioritizes "AI-first" applicants who intend to be active, in-person members at one of their designated hubs in Berlin or San Francisco.
Grant recipients are also invited to attend travel-paid workshops and collaborative sprints designed to advance the frontiers of their respective fields. Consequently, applications requesting funding only, without hub participation, will be considered solely in exceptional circumstances. To view calls for proposals, a subscription is required.
