For the workforce in Europe, the AI Opportunity Fund supports nonprofits in delivering foundational AI training to those who need more support to upskill themselves.

In parallel, the programme equips students at universities and vocational schools with advanced, industry-relevant AI skills to boost their employability. Together, these programmes represent a unified commitment to ensuring the benefits of AI are accessible to everyone. Providing accessible, foundational AI training for 50,000 workers across Europe.

At Google. org , we believe the transition to an AI-powered economy must be inclusive, ensuring that technology serves as a catalyst for new roles and enhanced labor productivity. This is why we have committed to funding non-profits across Europe to provide accessible, job-ready training that meets the demands of a shifting workforce.

Our approach builds directly on a successful initiative led by the Centre for Public Impact (CPI) , which is currently overseeing foundational AI training for 20,000 workers across 26 countries. By leveraging these proven, localized models, we are able to provide the high-touch, bespoke support necessary to bridge the digital divide for Europe’s most vulnerable communities as our reach grows. Looking ahead to 2026, Google.

org will expand this mission to upskill 50,000 workers across the UK, Northern Europe, and Central/Eastern Europe. We will achieve this by supporting nonprofits like Talents for Tech and AI Sweden to collaborate with trade unions, municipalities, ICT associations and community organizations to offer the Google AI Professional Certificate .

By combining this curriculum with hybrid training and essential wraparound support, we are ensuring that workers are not just prepared for the future of work, but are empowered to lead it. Research demonstrates a growing demand for applied AI skills in non-tech roles like Marketing & Communications, Finance & Accounting, Business Operations & Logistics, ICT & Technical Support and Administration.

This program responds to the urgent need for market-responsive learning models identified by institutions such as the EU Commission and national strategies across the MENA region. New Futures : AI program, funded by Google.

org , will provide students at over 50 partner universities and vocational schools with an industry-aligned curriculum developed by INCO, with applied career coaching and solidarity professional networking provided by Chance. Which regions and countries are covered? The program spans 24 countries across Europe and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA). Europe: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania.

MENA: UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Morocco. What will I learn in this program? The training, developed by INCO, consists of a 40-45 hour learning journey designed to be practical and job-relevant, across key professional sectors and connecting them with ready-to-use AI-skills.

The coaching experience by Chance provides an AI-powered journey where students identify their core strengths, build a professional project, and master the storytelling skills needed to pitch their future careers. The program offers a flexible, self-paced online learning experience supported by live online sessions. Depending on the university partner, there may also be opportunities for in-person workshops to foster collaboration and engagement. Is the content available in multiple languages?

The program content is localised into English, French, Italian, Arabic, Spanish, and German. Will I get a certificate? Yes, certified learners will have a validated credential that demonstrates their proficiency in applied AI skills to future employers.
