Rapid Grants | BlueDot Impact Funding for the BlueDot community to ship projects, run events, and do other concrete work on AI safety and biosecurity. For anyone working on concrete AI safety projects. Research, events, community building, tooling, compute.
Impactful work where money is the bottleneck. Compute and API credits, events and meetups, research access, travel, community chapters, project tooling. Wildcards welcome.
Pitch us. What needs a stronger case General equipment, productivity subscriptions, or plans you haven't started yet. Stipends and living expenses aren't our usual scope, but apply and make the case if yours is high-impact.
Tell us what you're doing, what you need, and how much it costs. Takes five minutes. On average we reply within a day, and 9 in 10 applicants hear back within a week.
We pay upfront by default; sometimes we reimburse instead. We'll let you know which when we approve. Use the funding for what we agreed on.
If your plan shifts, tell us. A short update when you're done. What you did, what came of it.

Yes. If the work's underway and the need is specific, just apply. Don't talk yourself out of it.
Who is eligible? Everyone who wants to start working on AI safety and biosecurity. You're more likely to receive a grant if you're a BlueDot course participant, alumni, facilitator, or active member of the AI safety/biosecurity community.
Can Rapid Grants fund events or meetups? Yes. We have funded meetup series, venue costs, and community events in multiple countries.
Show us the plan and the specific costs. Do you fund upfront or reimburse later? Both.
Usually we send the money upfront; sometimes we reimburse instead. We'll tell you which when we approve. Can Rapid Grants cover travel?
Yes. We fund travel for conferences, collaboration, and fieldwork. Show us why being there matters for the work.
What if I need more than a few thousand dollars? Rapid Grants run from $50 to $10,000. If you need more, get in touch.
