To match the pace of innovation, small businesses must invest in retraining and upskilling employees—and the Smart Futures for Small Business Scholarship, supported by American Express, is here to help. The Smart Futures for Small Business Scholarship supports small business employees by providing awards of up to $1,000 toward AI certification programs.
This unique program offers two types of funding to eligible recipients: For those who plan to pursue a certificate outside of a traditional college or university, awards of $250-$500 are available to reimburse the cost of training. For those who plan to pursue a certificate offered by an accredited higher education institution, scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded.
Applicants to Smart Futures for Small Business must be current employees of a company of 500 people or less and must obtain a recommendation from their employer to be considered. Funds may not be applied toward a degree program. Applications are open through June 10.
