The AI2F Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates program is funded by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and administered through Mississippi State University. The 10-week summer program (May 26 to July 31, 2026) immerses undergraduate students in hands-on research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, sustainable forest-product industries, and real-world problem solving.
Selected participants receive a $6,000 support package. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a community college or four-year university program. Weekly activities include research presentations, field visits, technical writing support, communication workshops, and graduate school preparation guidance.
