The Alabama Digital Expansion Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) released a draft of the Alabama Statewide Digital Opportunity Plan for public comment in advance of its submission to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. All interested parties were invited to submit comments regarding the draft document.
Comments regarding the draft were collected on an online form until 11:59 p. m. on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
The revised plan was approved in January 2024. It outlines the needs, strategies, and goals to expand internet connectivity and opportunity throughout the state for all Alabamians. For more information about the approved Alabama Statewide Digital Opportunity Plan, please contact broadband.
