Grants - Alabama RC&D Councils Each RC&D grant is used to help Alabama grow and prosper. Grant applications will start to be accepted for the 2026 fiscal year beginning April 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026. Each RC&D Grant Project helps Alabama communities grow and prosper.
Who can benefit from RC&D? What types of projects are funded? We fund projects that fall into two categories: Education Fund Projects and General Fund Projects .
An Education Fund Project must have an educational component. All projects without an educational component are considered General Fund Projects . Which Council do you contact?
All 67 counties in Alabama belong to one of our nine Councils. Find your local council here . If your project involves three or more Councils, you are eligible for a Statewide grant from the Alabama Association.
When do you apply for grant funding? All RC&D projects run on a fiscal year cycle, beginning on October 1. All nine Councils accept grant applications from April 1 to June 30.
Applications are reviewed before October 1 to ensure all approved projects may begin at the start of the fiscal year. How do you apply for grant funding? Reach out to your local RC&D Council Office for more information.
Education Project Program Invests in learning opportunities that strengthen individuals, organizations, and communities across Alabama. By supporting workforce development, K–12 schools and higher education, libraries, conferences, workshops, senior education initiatives, and collaborative resource-sharing efforts, the program expands access to knowledge and practical skills that drive community and economic advancement.
Through strategic partnerships and targeted funding, the program fosters long-term growth, improves quality of life, and helps make Alabama a better place to live, work, and thrive. Supports initiatives that conserve, enhance, and develop Alabama’s natural and human resources to strengthen communities statewide.

The Homeless Youth Program is a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services that funds services for homeless and at-risk youth across Illinois. Administered through the Office of Community and Positive Youth Development, it supports nonprofit organizations delivering shelter, outreach, and support services to young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Eligible applicants are Illinois-based nonprofits with demonstrated capacity to serve youth. Awards range from $100,000 to $800,000 per year under CSFA number 444-80-0711. Community Investment Tax Credit Program (CITC) is a grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development that provides state tax credit allocations to 501(c)(3) nonprofits, enabling them to attract private donations from individuals and businesses. Donors contributing $500 or more to approved projects receive tax credits equal to 50% of their contribution. The program has leveraged nearly $27 million in charitable contributions to approximately 700 projects statewide. Eligible project areas include education, housing, job training, arts and culture, economic development, and services for at-risk populations. Projects must be located in or serve residents of Maryland's Priority Funding Areas. The application period is typically held annually.
