Alaska Indigenous Engagement Program Grants | NOAA Fisheries Guidance for Federal Departments and Agencies on Indigenous Knowledge from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Council on Environmental Quality.
The Alaska Fisheries Science Center is seeking proposals to Support Existing Indigenous Knowledge Networks to build capacity in remote Arctic communities in line with NOAA Fisheries Equity and Environmental Justice Strategy. (e.g., environmental monitoring and knowledge sharing workshops) Elevate Indigenous Knowledge in existing science for better understanding of how changing climate conditions affect living marine resources.
Conduct collaborative and co-produced research with academic, international and Indigenous partners. The Alaska Fisheries Science Center expects to offer virtual Q&A sessions on March 7 at 9:00 am AKT and March 18 at 12:00 pm AKT to share information and answer questions about this new funding opportunity. These webinars will be recorded and AFSC may hold future webinars as needed.

Federal agencies or instrumentalities are not eligible to receive federal assistance under this notice. The Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (DOC/NOAA) is strongly committed to broadening the participation of historically black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, tribal colleges and universities, and institutions that work in underserved areas.

A complete standard NOAA financial assistance application package should be submitted in accordance with the guidelines in the Federal Funding Opportunity announcement posted to www. Grants. gov .
