Funding Priorities - Andrus Family FundAndrus Family Fund The Andrus Family Fund seeks to support grassroots community organizations that are building the power of BIPOC youth and families to abolish harmful systems and design transformative approaches for creating safe, just, and thriving communities.
We are building on the knowledge, experience, and lessons learned through our work together as funders, movement partners, and the broader field. Andrus Family Fund funds frontline youth-led and family-led groups that are working to divest their communities from prisons, police and foster care placements and to end the criminalization of BIPOC youth and families.
We fund community organizing groups that work to ensure impacted communities of color have greater decision-making of public safety and child welfare policies.
Youth and family-led campaigns to end youth incarceration, school policing, and foster care, and to reinvest in community-driven solutions Work to dismantle harmful policies and practices within the youth punishment and family policing systems Efforts to strengthen infrastructure within abolitionist movements Local groups creating community-led models of youth well-being, safety, and justice Our grantmaking does not support: Standalone film and documentary projects Capital campaigns or building construction Projects that are based or focused outside of the United States, tribal lands, or U.S. territories Awards, scholarships, or endowment funds Awarded each year in AFF GRANTS Youth residing in juvenile detention, correctional and/or residential facilities in the U.S.* Children ages 16-20 who exited foster care in 2018** *As of 2017.
