Our scholarship program is designed to assist promising writers with financial need. Along with the application form, please submit a statement of interest (max word count 500).

Fine print: If for any reason The Writer’s Center has to cancel the chosen workshop, or the participant withdraws before the start date of the class, the amount awarded will be valid for one calendar year from its issuance as a credit. Download Application Form Judy Neri Scholarship for Disabled Poets In Judy’s memory, each year, The Writer’s Center will award scholarships of $250 to 4 recipients (which may be used toward 1 or more workshops at The Writer’s Center). Applications will be open from September 15 to September 30, 2026 , and 4 applicants will be randomly selected as scholarship recipients by October 7, 2026.
The Writer’s Center defines disability as a physical, mental, cognitive, or developmental condition that limits a person’s movement, senses, or activities. To be included in the lottery, simply send your name, email, address, and phone number to scholarships@writer. org .
Scholarships are valid for one calendar year. If for any reason The Writer’s Center has to cancel the chosen workshop, or the participant withdraws before the start date of the class, the amount awarded will be valid for one calendar year from its issuance as a credit. Terms and conditions are subject to change.
Applications sent outside of the submission window will not be considered.
