Foundation Scholarships and Grants  | AORN Foundation Foundation Scholarships and Grants Foundation Scholarships and Grants The AORN Foundation supports your professional goals and helps you maintain evidence-based knowledge and competencies. We have awarded scholarships to more than 3,000 nurses working to earn a degree, achieve advanced certification, and complete continuing nurse education.
The AORN Foundation awards scholarships to students who are pursuing a career in perioperative nursing, and to registered nurses who are continuing their education in perioperative nursing by pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. Professional Development Grants The Foundation offers professional development grants to help nurses maintain competency and to ensure safe and high-quality care. The grant application for funding to attend the 2026 AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo is closed. All candidates will be notified by the beginning of February 2026.
The application will reopen for AORN Expo 2027 in conjunction with registration for the event. This grant application is closed. All candidates will be notified by the beginning of April 2026.
CNOR, CSSM and CNAMB certification grants are supported by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI). Grants awarded can be used for assistance in CNOR, CSSM and CNAMB certification testing. Grants are available for new certification only.
CRNFA certification grants are supported by the National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC). These grants are for current RNFAs working in an expanded role who are committed to enhancing their skills and delivering exceptional patient care. The application for the 2025 Linda Groah Leadership Development Grant is now closed.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
