The purpose of the grant is to enable and accelerate impactful decarbonization projects that go beyond energy efficiency & have an ROI of 3+ years. These grants are exclusively available for suppliers to implement proven technologies that reduce process demand for energy, support electrification, and drive absolute CO2e reductions. Energy efficiency, solar PV, and biomass projects are not eligible for grants.

Reducing process demand for energy - reducing the amount of energy needed to deliver a process (e.g., lower impact processing). These solutions can be implemented by factories preparing for electrification by reducing their heat and steam use. Renewable electrifying processes - shifting a process from thermal energy to electricity.

Examples include digital printing, electric singeing, and thermal oil stenters (to prepare for future electrification). These solutions can be adopted in factories planning to run them on green electricity.

Renewable electrification of energy delivery - transitioning a facility from fossil-based fuel sources to electrical energy through a heat pump, electric boiler or thermal storage powered by certified green electricity (ideally onsite generation and/or Corporate Power Purchase Agreement). The threshold for renewable electricity must be a minimum of 50% for heat pump solutions. There are two applications for this grant per year.

In 2026, applications will be open February 2 - March 13 and July 1 - August 14. The application process will follow the steps and timeline outlined below. We will contact you if we need additional information or to confirm whether you have been invited to pitch.

The data presented by a CSP Grant or Registry applicant will differ according to the solution’s maturity level. For Grant applications, where we accept less mature solutions, we are looking for a strong case to be made for the effectiveness of a solution. For a Registry application, we seek evidence that the solution delivers the expected effectiveness.

Below we have outlined the maturity definitions and how this relates to the data. Pre-seed: Solutions at a concept level and in the process of evaluating and establishing their impact potential. Pilot: Solutions testing to demonstrate a proof of concept. The impact figures on these solution pages are projections of the pilot's impact and do not yet reflect consistent performance. Model: Solutions working towards de-risking and reducing known barriers to scale.

Registry Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and you should hear back within 1-2 months of applying. If you have applied for a grant, you will receive an automatic email once you have applied on the review timelines. These can also be found in the application hub.

How are applications evaluated? The Climate Solutions Portfolio Advisory Council evaluates applications according to the requirements set out in the Grant Funding Thesis with a focus on effectiveness, reach, and scale. Please review the Thesis for additional information.
