Artist Fund 2026 is sponsored by Minderoo Foundation. Provides funding for independent mid-career artists in Western Australia to create new work.

The Minderoo Foundation Artist Fund is an annual funding opportunity for artists to explore and create new work in Western Australia. Each year the Artist Fund will distribute grants and residencies aimed at recognising our artistic workforce as the vital centre of our cultural and creative economy.

**The Artist Fund’s grant and residency opportunities are for independent mid-career artists to devise, research, progress or complete ambitious projects in any art form. ** For 2026, the Artist Fund comprises: * Up to six $35,000 project grants * Up to two residencies valued at up to $20,000 * A $50,000 non-outcome prize (to be announced at the end of the year of support).

Plus additional contributions and supports: * Stipend for professional documentation of projects * Stipend for primary carers of children * Stipend for quick response professional development opportunities * A small financial incentive for shortlisted applicants to progress to the second stage of the application process Eligible recipients must be: * An individual (not a group or an organisation) * An Australian citizen and a Western Australian resident * Identify as an independent mid-career artist **EOI Applications close on Thursday 25 September 2025.

** **Applications to both the Project Grants and Residencies will be assessed in three stages. ** **Stage One: Expression of Interest:** This simple online form to collect key information about the artist and their practice, with a high-level description of the proposal. **Stage Two: Full Application:** The panel will shortlist the applicants and will invite at least 30 artists to complete a full application.

Artists who complete a full application will be paid $250 for their time. **Stage Three: Interview:** The panel will shortlist the applicants and will invite at least eight artists to undertake a short interview.
