Broward Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program is seeking to create a pool of conservation specialists to engage in the repair, restoration or conservation of public artworks included in its public art collection.
The conservation specialists could be artists, artist-team or vendors with expertise in the conservation and renovation of public artworks. Considering that public art in South Florida is highly vulnerable to the effects of weather conditions and environments, conservation specialists should be based in South Florida and familiar with material and techniques best suited for the Florida environment.
As 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the Broward Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design program, conserving and restoring the division’s public artworks is critical to ensure that the public can continue to enjoy them for years to come.

The Artist Support Grant is designed to be flexible and accessible to encourage career advancement through creativity, innovation, and sustained commitment to artistic work. Subject to the availability of funds, grant awards may be up to $5,000.

org P: 954-357-6704 FY27 Visual Artistic Excellence Guidelines for FY27 Visual Artistic Excellence to FY27 Visual Artistic Excellence The Visual Artistic Excellence Grant provides direct funds to a mid-career/established individual artist who lives and works in Broward County. The selected artist will have a strong history of recent exhibitions, commissions or other professional achievements.
This grant is awarded to an artist whose work will have a profound impact not only on the arts, but on culture and discourse more broadly. The funds will support the creation of original work(s) of which one will be accessioned into the Broward County Cultural Division collection. Prior to the termination of the grant period, the artist shall give to the Cultural Division one piece of artwork of the County’s choosing.
Artists are only eligible to receive this grant once. Subject to the availability of funds, grant awards may be up to $25,000. The program is designed to encourage risk-taking, exploration of artistic pursuits, career advancement, interactivity, and sustained commitment to artistic work. Acceptable projects may include collaborations across various disciplines, use of technology and multiple media types, immersive installations, interactive performances/concerts, literary/oral history projects, temporary public art projects, and more.
Selected artists are required to produce an event that is free, accessible, and open to the Broward County public. Awards are provided in partnership with the Community Foundation of Broward. Subject to the availability of funds, grant awards may be up to $15,000.

The goal of this Program is to provide funding for community arts and cultural events in a fair manner that promotes community building, collaboration, and economic growth and development among the cultural and business communities.
Proposals must clearly demonstrate their impact on the arts, culture, community, and economy of Broward County, ensure audience engagement, and reflect a high standard of excellence that enhances the County’s cultural image.
