Arts in Community Grants is sponsored by South Arts (supported by the National Endowment for the Arts). This opportunity supports deeper engagements between Southern communities and artists. It aims to increase access to the arts, expand audiences, and broaden reach by funding projects that require a Southern artist/company to visit another Southern state for public activities.

Application Deadline: September 30 Emerging Traditional Artists Program Connect with your peers, participate in professional development workshops, and receive up to $5,000 supporting your projects.

Application Deadline: September 30 In These Mountains: Infrastructure Grants Grants of $30,000 to organizations in Appalachian Regional Commission counties in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee to support non-programming expenses that are often not fundable by most grants or are financially out of reach for organizations.

Literary Arts Project Grants Project grants of up to $5,000 will be made to writers, independent literary publishers, small presses, and literary arts organizations. Project categories include Creative Literary Work Creation and Publishing, Community Engagement, and Professional Development (writers only).

Southern Prize for Literature The Southern Prize for Literature advances the work of writers engaged in the development of book-length manuscripts. The award is designed to provide timely support at a critical juncture in a project’s evolution, when dedicated time and resources can materially strengthen the manuscript and help bring it to completion.

Rolling Deadline through April 30, 2027 Professional Development Grants for Arts Organizations These grants offer up to $1,000 to support the professional development needs of Southern arts organizations with operating budgets of $500,000 or less.

Rolling Deadline through April 30, 2027 Open to organizations in rural, isolated, or small communities, the Arts in Rural Places Grant program offers expedited awards of up to $3,000 supporting community engagement projects.

Rolling Deadline through April 30, 2027 Southern Artist Spotlight Grant Southern Artist Spotlight Grants provide funding for arts and community organizations to present Southern artists from the South Arts roster through public performances, screenings, exhibitions, and community engagement activities.

Call for Presenters and Venues We are looking for presenters of all types, from jazz clubs to places of worship to performing arts centers to house concerts to non-traditional presenters, and communities from rural or isolated to urban. Jazz Road Creative Residencies Jazz artists, apply for a grant to explore your work in new ways.
