ASH Global Research Award

ASH Global Research Award is sponsored by American Society of Hematology (ASH). The ASH Global Research Award supports future international scientific leaders, increases hematology capacity, and nurtures global collaboration. It is intended for hematologists between completion of training and the establishment of their independent careers.

ASH Global Research Award - Hematology. org American Society of Hematology Early and Mid-Career Investigator Awards and Training Programs Agenda for Nematology Research Genome Editing and Gene Therapy Research Support and Funding The ASH Global Research Award was designed to support future international scientific leaders, increase hematology capacity, and nurture global collaboration.

The award is intended to support hematologists between completion of training and the establishment of their independent careers. The Global Research Award is accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) until August 31, 2026, at 11:59 p. m.

Eastern time. The Global Research Award provides funding for projects for up to three years, depending on the proposed project need. For projects of one year or less, the applicant may request up to $100,000.

For projects of more than one year, the applicant may request up to $150,000. Exact amounts will be determined based on the project requirements and costs for the region. See Additional Benefit Information AGRA supports hematology research and hematology training opportunities.

Hematology research includes basic, translational, patient-oriented, and outcomes-based research; Training opportunities may include training at other institutions by trainees or early-career investigators, pilot studies, collaborative projects, and other proposals for career development. See Project Option Details The Global Research Award requires that all applicants have a local mentor and a global mentor.

The global mentor must be in a region or country outside of the applicant’s region or country of residence. One of the two mentors must be an ASH Active or International member. See Additional Mentorship Information Applicants must be based in a country other than the United States or Canada.

Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, or MD-PhD (or its equivalent). Applicants must be an ASH member in good standing. See Additional Eligibility Requirements Application Process and Required Materials ASH requires applicants to submit a letter of intent (LOI) via the online awards system.

The LOI is mandatory and must include a description of the proposed project and its timeline, an outline of the project's funding amount, plans for the mentorship team, a description of the applicant's career level, and the applicant's Curriculum Vitae (CV) or equivalent.

See Additional Information on Required Materials Reviewers will assess all submitted letters of intent and select the applicants who will be invited to submit a full proposal. ASH will review all completed applications submitted by the application deadline and will select the applicants to be funded. Application decisions and critiques will be sent to all applicants.
