0 Empower, Inspire and Transform Youth Mental Wellbeing through the power of Multi-Year Flexible Funding. As a regional ecosystem builder, we have launched the Youth Mental Wellbeing Philanthropic Pooled Fund to increase accessibility of youth mental wellbeing services across the region.

Despite substantial research advances demonstrating what can be done to promote mental wellbeing among young people, translation into real-world effects are lagging behind. In Asia, problems arising from poor mental health and wellbeing are the second largest contributor to years of health life lost to disability and many treatment gaps still persist.

Our goal is to raise USD 3 million to strengthen and scale transformative impact organisations that are working to address accessibility to quality, evidence-based mental health services for youth communities in Asia. Besides deploying financial capital through the fund, we will also work with the funders to provide non-financial support to grantees through corporate volunteering engagement opportunities.

Their dedicated efforts in this vital area deserve the highest commendation.

What do our selected grantee say about the Asian Youth Mental Wellbeing Fund? "Through the support of the Asian Mental Youth Fund, we hope to increase conversation on mental well-being needs of adolescents in India, with a particular focus on academic performance pressure, and reduce the stigma associated with mental health for youth and adolescents.

We plan to achieve this by creating a comprehensive mental health resource catering to the needs of Indian adolescents. We would also work towards creating spaces, opportunities for parents and schools to understand the importance of mental health and reduce stigma around it. We will also pilot the assimilation of mental well-being checks as part of regular school health check-ins.

We will also take the conversation and provide tools and spaces on mental health to youth in smaller towns and rural areas."

Our comprehensive initiative is aimed at capacity building and optimising the efficiency of a three-tiered mental health intervention programme – to empower school communities to possess a deeper understanding of mental health issues, building on the success of our current KASIH programme developed and validated by healthcare professionals.
