The Aspasia programme provides a grant to universities intended for the appointment of female Vidi candidates to associate professorships. Vidi applicants who may eligible for the Aspasia grant were contacted by the NWO in July 2023. The last round of Aspasia (2022) opened in July 2023.
The NWO is working towards an intelligent way of embedding the Aspasia objective more broadly in its regular funding instruments. This Aspasia round does not have a traditional grant ceiling. There is no 'order of receipt' rule for this 2022 round.
The Aspasia programme was established by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Association of Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) and NWO.
