The Aspire program, supported by a Healthy Greenville Grant, empowers youth and young adults transitioning out of foster care. It helps participants move beyond state-level care into a supportive, local community environment where they can grow, heal, and build meaningful lives.

_A grant initiative of the Greenville Health Authority_ ### Letter of Intent (LOI) Process Opens The next **Healthy Greenville** grant cycle will open on **January 12, 2026**. Eligible organizations are invited to submit proposals that advance the health and well-being of Greenville County residents. The full Request for Proposal (RFP) document is available for download.

**Be part of Greenville’s journey to become the healthiest county in America. ** ### Investing in a Healthier Greenville County Healthy Greenville represents a bold and ongoing commitment by Prisma Health–Upstate and the Greenville Health Authority (GHA) to improve the health and well-being of Greenville County residents.

As part of its lease agreement with GHA, Prisma Health–Upstate contributes **$4 million annually** to fund health-related care, research, and education initiatives that directly benefit the people of Greenville County. These funds are administered by GHA through the Healthy Greenville grants program.

Since 1947, Prisma Health–Upstate has invested more than **$2 billion** in local healthcare infrastructure, with less than 3% derived from taxpayer dollars. This continued investment—along with an average of **$178 million in uncompensated care provided each year**—reinforces Prisma Health–Upstate’s long-standing role as a safety net provider for the community. Fund health-related care, health research, and health education initiatives that improve the health of Greenville County residents. * Commitment to transparency in the grantmaking process and communications. * Use of the Prisma Health Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to guide focus areas.

* Use of the County Health Rankings to measure progress and outcomes. * Merit-based grant decisions that align with eligibility and criteria outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP). * Emphasis on measurable, results-driven initiatives.

* Encouragement of collaboration and cross-functional partnerships. * Equal consideration for new and existing programs with a proven track record of success. * All funded work must be trackable and measurable.

Healthy Greenville funds projects that demonstrate measurable improvement in at least one of the following priority areas identified in the current 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA): 2. Overweight and Obesity 3. Heart Disease and Stroke 5.

Social Determinants of Health 6. Healthy Eating and Exercise _Focus areas will be updated periodically to align with the most current CHNA findings. _ Eligible applicants must directly benefit residents of Greenville County, South Carolina.

Collaboration between organizations is encouraged and welcomed.

**Eligible Organizations:** * 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations * Community-based organizations * Healthcare providers and hospitals (including and beyond Prisma Health) * Academic institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities * Coalitions or collaboratives * Religious organizations (for secular purposes only) * Organizations without 501(c)(3) status * Organizations currently participating in a Healthy Greenville funding cycle * Organizations applying for a Healthy Greenville, Too grant in the same year The Healthy Greenville grantmaking process is guided by a formal **Request for Proposal (RFP)** issued by the Greenville Health Authority.

Interested organizations will first submit a **Letter of Intent (LOI)** outlining their proposed program or project. After review, select applicants will be invited to submit a **full application** for funding consideration.

Funding is awarded to applicants who: * Align with the goals and measures outlined in the RFP * Demonstrate a track record of success in health-related programs * Clearly articulate how their project will contribute to Greenville County becoming the healthiest county in America * Review the full RFP for eligibility criteria, key dates, and submission guidelines * Review our Use of AI Policy * Prepare and submit your Letter of Intent by the published deadline All applications are evaluated by Peer Reviewers, provided by Prisma Health, and Greenville Health Authority’s Grant Committee Members.
